Fressnapf We Went In for Pet Food. We Came Out With a Whole Pet Routine.
Posted on |
Pet owners know the feeling.
The food bag is nearly empty. The litter is running low. Someone needs a new toy, and someone else needs a vet.
Fressnapf is a German pet shop, and its online store covers almost every one of those moments.
We spent time with the site to see how it works in 2026, and what stood out was not one product.
It was how much of a pet’s week the shop tries to cover.
A Huge Range, Sorted by Animal
The shop says it sells more than 37,000 articles. It also lists 13 exclusive Fressnapf brands, next to well known names like Royal Canin, Bosch, Wolfsblut and Gourmet.
The shop sorts everything by animal: dog, cat, small animal, bird, horse, aquarium, terrarium, and garden and pond. There is even a section for the owner, with clothing, shoes and bags.
For a first visit, pick your animal and then pick the need: food, sleep, play, grooming or travel.
The Offers on the Front Page Right Now
Fressnapf puts a lot of offers on its home page. These are the ones we saw.
| Offer | Details |
| New customer voucher | 12% off your first order, with the voucher NEU12 |
| Cat dry food and snacks | 12% off, online only, with a countdown timer on the page |
| Flyer offers | Up to 54% off for one month, online and in store |
| Happy Dog snacks and dry food | Up to 50% off |
| Real Nature cat wet food | Up to 20% off |
| Hill’s Science Plan | 20% off selected items, online only |
| Rinti, bosch, Gourmet My Fresh | 15% off selected items, online only |

| Cat litter and senior dog food | 15% off selected items |
| Payback Joker | Extra points from September 28 to November 1, 2026 |
| Newsletter | 10% welcome discount |
The voucher has conditions. The shop says it cannot be combined with offer items or other vouchers, and it does not apply to phone orders, books, magazines, deposits or partner items. Read the terms in the cart.
Shipping: The Part That Decides the Total
Shipping rules matter more than most people think, because pet food is heavy.
The shop states a minimum order value of 19 euros. Shipping costs 2.99 euros up to an order value of 49 euros. From 49 euros, or with Click and Collect, shipping is free. Returns are always free, and the shop lists a 30 day return right.
If your order passes 31 kilograms, it ships in more than one parcel, and a one time extra shipping fee of 2.99 euros applies. Heavy litter and big food bags add up fast, so plan your basket.
Four Ways to Use Fressnapf
1. Food and Treats
This is the core. Dog and cat food from well known brands, plus the shop’s own labels like Real Nature, Select Gold, Premiere and MultiFit. The shop also sells special diets for conditions such as kidney, urinary and joint problems, which you should only use on a vet’s advice.
Best For: Owners who buy food every month.
2. Exclusive Brands
Fressnapf’s own labels include AniOne, MultiFit, Real Nature, Select Gold, Premiere and more. The shop says it offers a satisfaction guarantee on selected exclusive brands, with a money back promise if you are not happy.
Own brands are often the budget route. Compare the ingredients to the name brand before you switch.
Best For: Owners who want quality on a smaller budget.
3. Gear, Beds and Toys
Beds, leashes, harnesses, scratching posts, toys, bowls, travel gear, aquarium tech and more. The home page highlights autumn items and an exclusive brand range.
Best For: New pet owners setting up from scratch.
4. Vet, Insurance and Salon Services
The shop links an online vet called Dr. Fressnapf, pet insurance, a grooming salon and a pharmacy partner. These sit under its service section.
An online vet cannot replace an in person visit when your pet is in pain or unwell. Treat it as a convenient first step for advice.
Best For: Owners who want everything in one place.
What the Magazine Adds
Fressnapf also runs a pet magazine, and it is more useful than we expected. There are guides for dogs, cats, small animals, birds, aquariums, terrariums, horses and garden animals, covering topics like nutrition, training, health, grooming and breeds.
For a new owner, that is a gentle way to learn what to buy before you spend. Read about the needs of your animal first, then shop for them.
It does not replace your vet. But a clear guide helps you ask better questions.
The Payback and Friends Perks
Fressnapf links two loyalty programs. Payback gives points, and the shop is running a Joker promotion for extra points from September 28 to November 1, 2026.
Friends is the shop’s own membership, with its own prices and perks. The shop notes that you need a membership and a customer account to get the Friends price.
If you buy pet supplies every month, these programs can quietly add up. If you shop once a year, you can ignore them.
A Smart Way to Build Your First Basket
Here is how we would approach it.
Start with the food you already buy, since that is the biggest regular cost. Check whether your brand is on offer today, because many named brands have a percentage off online.
Next, add litter or heavy items only if they push you over 49 euros, which unlocks free shipping. Then add one small extra, like a toy or a snack, so the voucher feels worth it.
Finally, read the voucher terms. The first order voucher cannot be combined with offer items, so check the cart total before you pay.
