1980 Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia Bolgheri Italian viscous structure of sweet cherryThe 1980 Bolgheri Sassicaia comes from vineyards with limestone rich soils at 80400m altitude and west southwest exposure. A cool vintage allowed extended ripening. It underwent 13 days of fermentation with pumping over, followed by malolactic fermentation, and aged 20 months in a mix of French and Yugoslavian barrels, half new and half used.
